A juried group exhibition spotlighting spatially inspired art by students, faculty, and alumni from the University of Texas at Austin
November 22 - December 13, 2008
Opening Saturday, November 22, the Creative Research Laboratory presents Prospect, a juried group exhibition spotlighting spatially inspired art by students, faculty, and alumni from the University of Texas at Austin.
Rethinking notions of home, our geography, and the basic principles of perspective, Prospect focuses on the act of surveying. Employing various dimensions, artists utilize new environments as a way to rethink space.
Artist will include: Daniel Aranda, Erik Culver, Sam Dahl, Lauren Moya Ford, Santiago Forero, Bethany Johnson, Megan Liu Kinche, Nina Rizzo, Mark Schatz, Jen Frost Smith, Megan Stroech, David Waddell, Wendel A. White, Douglas Marshall, Beatrice Thomas, Marya Spont, Ryan Molloy, and collaborative groups Leigh Brodie and Lucas Wilcox, Crafthole, Ayham Tavsier Ghraowi and Javier Viramontes.
The Creative Research Laboratory (CRL) presents a year-round schedule of exhibitions, featuring work by students and faculty at The University of Texas at Austin. The CRL is located in East Austin at 2832 East Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, inside Flatbed World Headquarters. There is ample free parking and bus service available on Capitol Metro's Route 18. The activities of the Department of Art and Art History and the Creative Research Laboratory are free and open to the public.
