DEPTH OF FIELD
Senior Design Exhibition 08
Examining the work of 15 graduating designers in the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Texas at Austin
May 3 - May 24, 2008
Beginning Saturday, May 3rd, the Creative Research Laboratory will showcase the work of seniors from the Design Division within the Department of Art and Art History. This exhibition will run three weeks and include photography, interactive design, printmaking, film, product design, typography and mixed media. The public is invited to attend this free event, including the opening reception on Saturday, May 3rd from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
It has been said that "design is [a way of] making sense of things," and this may ultimately be the best way to define such an all-encompassing practice. Students studying in this program are taught to observe and respond to the cultural, socio/economic, material, political, geographic and temporal environment. These ethical designers of the future, who will imbue our environments with depth, texture and meaning, present the culmination of their three-years of studies in this Senior Exhibition.
DEPTH OF FIELD: SENIOR DESIGN EXHIBITION 2008 will feature the work of Megan Braley, Christen Collier, James Edwards, Sarah Emmons, Kristen Folkens, Lindsey Gerhard, Courtney Goode, Magera Holton, Caspar Lam, Allison Lura, Kristin Macdonough, Robin Peeples, Anna Radley, Carla Rogers, and Caroline St Romain.
The Creative Research Laboratory is a component of the University of Texas at Austin College of Fine Arts in the Department of Art and Art History.
