IT'S GONNA BE EVERYTHING
Artists Sterling Allen, Tim Brown, Peat Duggins, Justin Goldwater, Nathan Green, Ryan Hennessee, Josh Rios, Michael Sieben, and Corkey Sinks tell all in this group exhibition of collaborative work made by the nine artists and founders of Okay Mountain.
January 19 - February 9, 2008
Opening Saturday, January 19th, the Creative Research Laboratory presents "It's Gonna Be Everything." The name says it all.
This exhibition features collaborative work by the Okay Mountain staff originating from games, challenges, or rules imposed on and by the group. Together they have created installations, drawings, and videos as a type of metaphor for their joint effort in leading Okay Mountain.
Okay Mountain is an artist-run exhibition space in Austin TX, founded in April of 2006. Since its inception, Okay Mountain has succeeded in showing a strong combination of emerging as well as established artists from regional to international locales. Okay Mountain operates based on a shared enthusiasm for art and a collaborative spirit that exists only with hard work and the support of community and friends with common goals.
The group will discuss the unique process which they used to make work for this exhibition at an artist talk January 28th from 6-8pm at the CRL. Please join us.
Creative Research Laboratory presents a year-round schedule of exhibitions of work by students and faculty at the University of Texas at Austin, and facilitates workshops, performances, demonstrations, seminars and collaborations.
Creative Research Laboratory is located in East Austin at 2832 East Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, inside Flatbed World Headquarters. There is ample free parking and bus service available on Capitol Metro's route 18. Creative Research Laboratory is open from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The activities of the Department of Art and Art History and the Creative Research Laboratory are free and open to the public.
