Opening Saturday, November 4th, the Creative Research Laboratory presents Intersections.
At what instant do we see an intersection between a mentor and their apprentice? This moment can appear as a single coordinate on the map of art making or as a major turning point in a body of work for either artist. Intersections focuses on the moment in time when the influence of the teacher can be glimpsed in the work of the student.
This junction appears in the work of two alumni from The Department and Art and Art History: Meggie Chou and Murray McMillan (with collaborative partner Megan McMillan), paired with their mentors, Bill Lundberg and Rebecka Sexton. Artist and art historians will merge, resulting in a brochure developed especially for this show, featuring writings by graduate students from the Department of Art History.

Creative Research Laboratory presents a year-round schedule of exhibitions of work by students and faculty at the University of Texas at Austin, and facilitates workshops, performances, demonstrations, seminars and collaborations.
Creative Research Laboratory is located in East Austin at 2832 East Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, inside Flatbed World Headquarters. There is ample free parking and bus service available on Capitol Metro's route 18. Creative Research Laboratory is open from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The activities of the Department of Art and Art History and the Creative Research Laboratory are free and open to the public.
